Aidan Lansing Obituary
Aidan Lansing of Cedar Mill, Oregon passed away on July 27th from an accidental fentanyl overdose at the age of 34.
Aidan was born on a cold snowy January 19th in Ghent, East Flanders, Belgium. He traveled to this country when he was just one month old.
As a boy, Aidan loved learning, and would devour knowledge about topics of interest such as spiders, construction equipment, dinosaurs, and (of course) sharks.
Aidan attended Cedar Mill Elementary School, where he made lifelong friends, many of whom were as close as family. He joined Cub Scouts in first grade and had many adventures with his friends and wonderful Scout leaders. On his first report card, his beloved kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Linder, wrote, "Aidan is very observant."
Aidan was nominated by a middle school teacher to participate in the Student Ambassador Program, and at age 13 he traveled to England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales to learn about these countries' culture and government.
Aidan attended Sunset High School for three years, and graduated valedictorian of his class from the Oregon National Guard Youth Challenge Program (OYCP), where Aidan's eclectic knowledge base earned him the nickname "The Brain".
Aidan always knew he wanted to be a soldier and he joined the Navy right after graduating OYCP. In the Navy, he served in a combat zone in the Gulf of Oman. He earned medals for marksmanship, the War on Terrorism, Good Conduct, and National Defense. He served a total of five years including two separate deployments lasting over a year in naval vessels including the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln. His rank was AT3, and he worked as an aviation technician for 4 years, which helped him land a job at Intel later when he returned to civilian life.
Aidan will be laid to rest in Willamette National Cemetery on August 21st at 1:00 PM. He will join relatives and fellow soldiers Del Bergsten, his great-uncle, and George Petchell, his great-great grandfather, who fought in WWI.
Aidan is survived by his mother Hannah Thomasin Holloway, his step-father Brian Holloway, his grandmother Mary Edwards and his beloved aunt "Auntie Tank" Adrienne Edwards, as well as daughter Nora Mason.

My condolences to the family and friends of Aidan Lansing. Aidan was part of the crew I’m on, shift 6 at Intel, up until he switched to days. I helped train him on the vacuum pumps and worked with him on quite a few different jobs. I always enjoyed working with him and he will be missed here at Intel. I’m very sorry for your and our loss.

Aidan was charming and funny and somehow always seemed to brighten up the spaces he walked through. We are grateful for the weekend we got to spend with him, getting to know him meant so much to us.
