Judith Reed Obituary
Judith Kathleen Reed, age 80 passed away from complications of COPD and lung cancer on May 1, 2022 at Whitewood Gardens in Portland, Oregon.
Judy was the first born to Raymond (Bud) and Maxine Odendahl in Forest Lake, Minnesota on January 18, 1942. She grew up in Beroun with her sisters Marie and Susie and her brothers Mike and Brian. She graduated from Pine City High School in 1959. After high school, Judy moved between Duluth and Princeton Minnesota.
After marrying Richard (Dick) Little in August of 1961, Judy lived briefly in Wilton, New Hampshire and moved with the Air Force overseas to France where she had her first son, Richard (Rich) in Phalsberg France on September 28, 1963. She returned to the United States in 1966 and moved between Minnesota, Arizona, and New Hampshire. She settled in California where her second son, Robert (Rob) was born at George Air Force Base in California on April 11, 1972.
In 1976, Judy began her career in the oil industry, starting in accounting with Gulf Oil Company and moving to Getty Oil for allocations and distribution. Her career culminated as an executive for a distributor in Los Angeles. As she established herself in industry, Judy was also busy raising her sons across Southern California, from Long Beach to Palm Desert to Baldwin Park. She married Jack Junior Reed in January of 1989 in Palos Verdes, California.
With her sons successfully on their own paths, Judy retired from industry and settled with Jack in Hillsboro Oregon in 1989 where she reconnected with her love of baking, canning, gardening, and sewing. She spent the next 30 years in Oregon enjoying her home and family, welcoming two grandchildren, Christopher and Eleanor, as well as countless nieces and nephews. Her last 15 years, like her first 15, were spent in the loving company of her sisters Marie and Susie, sharing a connection that only sisters can share.
Judy was predeceased by her parents Bud and Maxine and her husband Jack. She is survived by her sons, Rich and Rob, her sisters Marie (Hamilton) and Susanne (Beukema) Odendahl, her brothers Mike and Brian Odendahl, and her grandchildren Christopher and Eleanor Little.
