Judith Stanley Obituary
On Sunday, December 27, 2020, Judith A. Stanley, loving mom, sister, daughter, and friend, passed away at the age of 71.
Judy was born on December 16, 1949, in San Francisco to William Harp and Margaret Isola. Growing up in the Bay Area during the ‘60’s meant she got to see lots of great bands before they became famous.
At a baseball game, Judy met Richard Stanley and several months later were married. In 1974, the Stanleys, now including son Jason, moved to Oregon. A daughter, Libby, joined the family a couple years later.
Judy worked with kids In the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Program and later as a Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant at Salem Heights Elementary School until her retirement. She touched the lives of many children during her 26 years at the school.
Judy enjoyed going to the movies. She also enjoyed watching true crime shows and mysteries, especially the British ones. Most of all, Judy loved being a mom, and she was the best.
Judy is survived by her children; Jason of Beaverton and Libby of Seattle, her mother Margaret, her stepdad Ronald, her brother Robert, and her sisters Stacy and Gina.
She is reunited with her grandmother, Helen “Vovo” Cooper, her father, William Harp and Ginger, her beloved golden retriever.

My dear best friend … May you rest in peace. I am honored to have shared a lifetime of memories with you. I will miss your loyalty, wit and always being here for me. When we meet on the other side, I will have a box of See’s tucked under my arm… keep the gate open, like we talked about.

My fondest memory of Judith is when she invited me to join Libby at her home for Thanksgiving one year. Â We were all snuggled up and watching a movie when Libby and Judith started screaming because here was a big spider crawling across the floor. Â Both screamed at me to kill it. Â All the while I was laughing because they were both strong, liberated women. Â I loved teasing Judith about it. Â She was an amazing soul and I am forever thankful for that and for giving me Libby in my life. Â Love to Jason, as well!Â
Jason and Libby: I am so sorry! My most fondest memories of life at the Whiteside Theatre and beyond include your mother! She nurtured us, cared for us, loved us and always made us laugh! I have shared stories for years. She is a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed! She is a treasure, I will never forget. You both have our love and prayers.
