Emily (McConnell) Liedtke Obituary
Emily Ann Liedtke passed away April 2, 2019 after a courageous battle with liver and kidney ailments. She was a vibrant 42 years old, far too young to leave us, but who lived a full and happy life to the end.
She was born September 7, 1976 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, the daughter of Cynthia and Jack McConnell and sister to older brother, Stuart McConnell.
She was educated at Oregon Episcopal School, Cedar Park School and graduated from high school at St. Mary's Academy, then on to the University of Oregon, and worked at OnPoint Credit Union, Tualatin Hills Parks and Rec. District and Get Fit Fitness, her own exercise company.
Emily married Pete Liedtke February 9, 2008 in Maui, Hawaii, which produced two wonderful children, Evangeline (12) and Madelyn (9).
She enjoyed many activities including skiing, swimming, rafting, theatre, volunteering and cooking. She loved to travel, visiting much of America, Europe, Central America and Hawaii several times. She was a wonderful hostess at her Beaverton home with Pete and her girls, always with a loving concern for others.
Emily had a marvelous sense of humor and was a strong and confident person in all parts of her active and energetic life. She planned our vacations, prepared our meals, took our family photos, led us on our daily adventures, in a calm and caring way.
Emily is survived by Pete, Evie and Mady; as well as her father, Jack of Portland, Stuart and Winnie McConnell of South Korea, Jill Liedtke of Eugene, Edith McConnell of Albany, Kurt Liedtke of Klamath Falls, Heidi and Mark Scharen of South Korea, Janette, Susan, Paul and Tara Sharpe of England, Patricia Blanton of Kentucky, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Her mother, Cynthia, predeceased her.
A memorial to honor Emily's life will be held on a selected date and location this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations to a college scholarship fund for Evangeline and Madelyn may be made at any Rivermark Credit Union location by depositing funds into the Evangeline Liedtke and/or Madelyn Liedtke UTMA accounts.
