Audrey Louise Harbolt, 77, passed away peacefully and went to heaven on
August 25th, 2018, in Beaverton, Oregon. She was born to Wilma and Walter Ruppel on August 28, 1940 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, then moved with her family to Portland, Oregon in 1944. Audrey had two sisters who have already passed, Carol Egan and Ann Snyder. She is survived by twin sisters; Jean Gjesvold and Jane Hofmann, and her brother Pat Ruppel.
Audrey attended Trinity Lutheran School for grades 1-8, and she graduated from Cleveland High School in Portland. She then earned her Associate's Degree in Bookkeeping and worked for Montgomery Ward until she met the "Love of Her Life", James ‘Jim' Harbolt. Jim & Audrey met in Portland and they were wed April 15, 1961, at Trinity Lutheran Church, in northeast Portland. Together, they had four children: Jimmy (wife Monica), Tim (wife Heidi), Tom (wife Debbie), and Mary. Audrey lost Jim when he passed away in 2016 and she never stopped missing him.
Audrey was always supportive of Jim and their children. For over ten years, she was a
co-leader of the high school youth group at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Beaverton, Oregon. For the last 20 years of her life, she was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Tigard, Oregon. She had a love for life and enjoyed many hobbies throughout her time on earth, including cooking, travel, horseback riding, quilting, and spending time with family, but her all time favorite activity was fishing. She was heard to say "You gotta hold your mouth right to catch a fish" and "Did you spit on the bait?" This was all part of the fantastic sense of humor that Audrey shared with everyone; especially her kids and 10 Grandchildren: Josh (wife Allie), Jacob (wife Darcy), Benjamin, Katie, Joel, Mitch, Maddie Papke (husband Sam), Jackson, Julia, and Hudson. Audrey also had one Great-Granddaughter, Avery (parents Josh & Allie).
Audrey's family and friends will always remember her cooking, her laughter, her smile, and her mischievous demeanor.
