Bill Chambers Obituary
William Harold Chambers (1943 - 2016)
Bill fought a short battle with a rare and very aggressive form of cancer, Triple-hit B-Cell Lymphoma, and died peacefully with his wife and children at his side. He was born to Bob and Jean Chambers and raised in Portland; He attended Ainsworth Grade School and Lincoln High School and kept close ties with his early classmates all of his life.
He joined the Army National Guard after high school and shortly after being discharged, he met his wife, Bonnie, on a blind date. They were married for 49 years. Bill was a hard-working small business owner, who ran a successful dry cleaning and laundry business for 40 years. He and his wife loved to travel, camp, and hike during their shared retirement.
Bill was a gregarious, natural conversationalist; nothing made him happier than swapping stories with the people he met. He had a strong sense of family and a personality that made everyone around him smile. He was an extraordinary husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, his sister, Sally, and his three children, Erin (Scott), Sloan (Tracy) and Rachel (Troy), and his granddaughter, Quinn, with whom he had a very special and loving bond. His absence will leave a large hole in all of our lives.
If you would like to make a donation in Bill's name, please go to CARES NW c/o Legacy Emanuel Children's Hospital."
