Elizabeth (Betty) Myers Obituary
Elizabeth (Betty) Myers passed away the morning of May 6th, in the presence of her loving family in Portland, Oregon. She was 91 years young at the time.
She was born in San Diego, California, in 1932, the oldest child of Leonard Young and Margaret Hawkins. She had brothers Herb, Bob, Pete, and Charles.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 43 years, Chalis. Their time together was full of love, life, and laughter. They welcomed daughters Kathleen (Mark), Juleen, and son Glayde (Stacy) and grandchildren Grant and Heath. Elizabeth and Chalis were well known for their time living on Peacock Lane in southeast Portland, Oregon during Christmas festivities.
Elizabeth was proud of her time as a telephone operator, but her legacy was being mom to not just her own children but also to all the many friends of her children, nieces, nephews, and cousins to this very day. In the past couple of years, you could find Elizabeth in her garden, making art, and traveling. She so enjoyed her recent travels to several European countries and Turkiye.
There are plans to have a “going away" party with friends and family on Saturday, May 11th at The Ainsworth House in Oregon City, OR.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to Médecins Sans Frontières.

Betty was the most giving and loving person I ever met. Everyone who ever shared a laugh or a personal problem with her will never forget her. That is her legacy.
Her kindness, her smile , pretty eyes that sparkled when she laughed, Her relationship with her husband and family. Her joy at holidays. These are my memories of Elizabeth. she was my coworker/friend at the phone company.. I’m so very glad I knew her! Elizabeth, enjoy all the travels and wonders in heaven with Chalis. you will be missed.
