SHARON MARIE NIEDERBERGER May 6, 1953 - February 20, 2019
Sharon "Shari" Marie Niederberger, 65, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at her home in Portland after a brief battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. She had been lovingly cared for by her family, friends and home health caregivers.
Shari grew up in Dundee, Oregon, in a close-knit family that included many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She experienced an idyllic childhood in small town Oregon. She attended St. Peter's Catholic School, Newberg High School and then graduated from Southern Oregon College in 1975. It was while at SOC that she made many lifelong friends. And, "Yes", those SOC Alumni know how to party!!
She labored in the high-tech industry for the majority of her work career. During this time in management she continued to gather friends. She had a gregarious, vivacious personality and she loved to socialize. She always had a smile on her face and her boisterous laugh filled up a room. She truly had more friends than time!! She loved to travel, play golf, read and watch OPB. An important summer event was her sisters annual beach retreat. Her nieces and nephews were also a treasured part of her life. Her great-nephews adored their special play times with Aunt Shari aka "Mimi."
She is survived by three sisters, Judy (Grant) Bowen, Carol (Barry) Hoffos, Lu (Mark) Hutchens; and eight nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m., March 16, 2019, at the King City Civic Association building at 15245 S.W. 116th Avenue, Portland, OR 97224. Please join her family and friends in toasting Shari one last time.
